BROOKFIELD — A hat trick is quite an achievement in a hockey game. Scoring three goals in a game at any level is something that takes hard work, skill and creativity.
And Muskego co-op seniors Ben Brown and Andrew Kunz have that in abundance.
Brown and Kunz each scored a hat trick, plus one, as Muskego boys hockey scored nine goals to beat hosts Brookfield 9-5 on Thursday in a Classic 8 Conference battle at The Ponds of Brookfield Ice Arena.
It was also the first time Muskego (9-5 overall, 5-1 conference) had ever beaten Brookfield (9-6, 3-3), and a sharp turnaround after the Stars beat the Ice Force 8-0 last season.
"This was one that we had on our list that we wanted to check off," Ice Force coach Joe Britt said. "These guys worked so hard. I can’t say enough about their work ethic. Working hard every day for these games, each and every game, they come ready to play."
